Biography

Dutch pianist Judith Klaassen-Halmans studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (academy of music) in Utrecht, where her teachers were Robert Groslot and the American pianist Alan Weiss. After obtaining her qualification as a piano teacher, she specialized in chamber music and lied accompaniment with the teachers Thom Bollen and in Hamburg Gernot Kahl (Musikhochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst).
She followed several master classes for piano solo, chamber music and lied accompaniment, among others with Rudolf Jansen.

She also studied at the Marnix Academie in Utrecht. After completing her final teaching practice at the European school in Luxembourg, she obtained the qualification to teach at primary school.

After her study at the academy of music, she has given piano lessons at various schools of music and had her own teaching practice in the Netherlands. She lives in Luxembourg since 2000 and has her own teaching practice in Bourglinster for many years.

Judith Klaassen forms a classic vocal and piano duo with the Luxembourgish soprano Stéphanie Schlink, with whom she gives concerts since 2017. For more information, please send an email.
